Villa Marchesa was constructed in the mid 1700’s by the noble Frescobaldi family. Later, a prominent politician from a neighboring city, Marquis Cosimo Ridolfi married into the Frescobaldi family and assumed a prominent role at the villa.
Cosimo Ridolfi, known as the father of modern Italian agriculture, curated and planted stunning botanical gardens containing more than 3,000 unique and exotic species of plants and trees.
